Service-specific details and frequently asked questions are listed below:

What can mental health counseling help with?

While mental health counseling can help with a variety of needs, Christopher specializes in anxiety, depression, career and school issues, grief and life transitions, LGBTQ+ and relationship concerns, as well as self-esteem and stress.

Where is mental health counseling provided, and for whom?

Christopher provides virtual (telehealth) mental health counseling services for individuals 18 years of age and older in NJ and PA. Virtual counseling is conducted through a secure platform that adheres to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations, safeguarding the confidentiality and privacy of your personal information.

What are the insurance options and self-pay rate for mental health counseling?

Christopher accepts and is in-network with Aetna and Cigna insurance. While he will verify your benefit details to help estimate costs, you should also contact your insurer or EAP to understand how your plan covers mental health counseling.

The self-pay rate is $125 per 60-minute session.

  • A sliding scale may be offered upon request on a case-by-case and limited basis.

  • If you are uninsured and/or choosing to self-pay, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your services may cost.  For information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, please visit cms.gov/nosurprises.

  • If you are insured but not in-network and choose to self-pay, you may be able to submit a superbill to your insurance company for possible reimbursement if your plan includes out-of-network benefits. A superbill is an invoice outlining the services you received, fees you paid, and diagnostic codes. Superbills will be sent to clients monthly for out-of-pocket sessions to submit to their insurer if they choose to do so.

  • While not affiliated with Work and Life Solutions LLC, you can use Thrizer, a third-party service, to help verify your out-of-network benefits and submit superbills. They will manage the reimbursement process end-to-end for you. Once you meet your deductible, you can request an instant reimbursement to skip the insurance wait or receive reimbursements in a few weeks via direct deposit. You can create an account and get started here.

What is the process for requesting mental health counseling?

1. Submit your interest through the contact options below. Christopher will reach out to you within two business days for a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation to discuss your concerns.

2. If mental health counseling fits your needs, he will discuss payment options.

3. Once your payor source is confirmed, he will send you intake paperwork to your email on file to read, sign, and complete through a HIPAA-compliant health records system. These forms are required before receiving services. Your first session will also be scheduled, during which you will receive an overview of confidentiality and the counseling process, explore your concerns, and begin to discuss a treatment plan. Following this, a session cadence will be scheduled as appropriate.
